Silver Skeletons are fast, undead hostile mobs equipped with Silver Swords

Spawning

Silver Skeletons naturally spawn in the Overworld on top of solid blocks with a light level of 7 or less.

Drops

Silver Skeletons have a chance to drop 0-2 Bones and a Silver Sword when killed. Sometimes they may drop more than one sword.

Behavior

Silver Skeletons are hostile mobs, and will give chase towards the player and attack if he/she is within a 16 block radius. Silver Skeletons will take damage from splash potions of Healing like other undead mobs, and they also burn in sunlight.

Silver Skeletons can run as fast as Minecraft Wither Skeletons when in pursuit of the player.[1]

Strategy

Since Silver Skeletons are fast mobs and can keep up at the player's pace, the best attack strategy would be shooting them from afar on top of a pillar of blocks or from a distance with a Bow. If he/she lacks a Bow however, any sword will work; Iron or better are recommended.

A Silver Skeleton has 4 and a half hearts more than a Minecraft Skeleton, so the player should use a strong weapon, preferably a Diamond sword as it will finish them off in about four hits. If a Silver Skeleton is chasing the player, it is best to keep their distance and strafe when attacking them.

Trivia

  • Even though Silver Skeletons carry two Silver Swords, they only drop one of their swords upon death, although sometimes they can drop more than one.
  • Silver Skeletons make the same sounds as Minecraft Skeletons.
  • Silver Skeletons wear a type of "armor" that cannot be obtained by the player, nor is it an actual item. The armor's texture can be found in the mod files.
