An essence of light is an item with multiple uses.

Usage

An essence of light has various effects when used on a certain mob. After a mob has been fed the essence, it will apply the following:

A tamed bat horse above cloud level (around layer 150) will transform into a pegasus. However, the player must use the essence on the bat horse when not riding it (you have to dismount the horse).
Pegasus and unicorns will have their health restored if it is low.
If a pegasus and unicorn are paired together, under the normal breeding conditions, they will breed and eventually disappear, leaving behind a baby fairy horse.
A tamed nightmare will turn into a unicorn.
A tamed lion, white lion, white tiger or liger will gain wings and be able to fly.
An adult ostrich will transform into a unihorned ostrich.
A tamed mother wyvern will turn into a light wyvern.
A wyvern egg will appear by a tamed wyvern's feet, which the player can pick up.
An undead horse, undead unicorn or undead pegasus will have its flesh restored, though it won’t be permanent, and will have to reapplied again eventually. However, as an essence of light requires rare ingredients and is expensive to craft, you can use an essence of undead as a cheaper alternative.

After using the essence in survival mode, a glass bottle will appear in the player's inventory.
